Overview
Course Description: The LGBTQ+ Healthcare for Clinicians series consists of three courses that focus on providing healthcare for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) community. Topics include, An Introduction to LGBTQ+ Healthcare for Clinicians; Lesbian and Bisexual Women’s Health and Health Concerns; and Gay and Bisexual Men’s Health and Health Concerns. Recognizing the unique needs of this population is essential for providing affirming, informed care. This series will increase staff knowledge of assumptions made about the LGBTQ+ community that can impact medical care and competence with health concerns that have a disproportionate impact on LGBTQ+ patients and effective approaches to patient-provider communication.
